"Creating a Silver Power Object: Strengthening Your Connection with Your Helping Spirits"
Talismans and objects of power have long been a part of shamanic traditions across cultures, serving as a link between the practitioner and the spirit world. In this immersive, hands-on workshop, participants will enter a light trance and craft a silver talisman together with the spirit they wish to strengthen their connection with. Working with silver clay, each person will shape a symbolic piece to support and strengthen their connection with a helping spirit, power animal, plant teacher, or the spirit of their drum or rattle. As the work progresses, they may notice how their intention shapes the form they create. The group will gather in circle to journey, create, and empower their pieces together. Participants will leave with a handcrafted solid silver object imbued with the presence of the spirit they worked with, ready to support and strengthen their shamanic work. Bio: A shamanic practitioner since 2010, Jutta trained in core shamanism with The Sacred Trust and the Foundation for Shamanic Studies in the USA, including advanced shamanic healing and Harner Shamanic Counseling. She has over 15 years of experience in Seiðr, training with Katie Gerrard and Shenoah Taylor, and has facilitated Seiðr practice groups both online and in person, as well as leading an online drumming group focused on healing work. She trained in traditional silversmithing through classes at the Hampstead School of Art and has worked with silver clay for 15 years. |
Further Details:
Duration: 3 hours
This Workshop is for: The workshop is open to participants of all levels, and no prior experience is required. Experience in moving in and out of light trance states independently may be helpful for those wishing to work in direct connection with a helping spirit during the crafting process. However, this is not necessary. Participants may also prepare by journeying in advance to receive guidance or ideas for their design, or by designing the talisman themselves beforehand.
What to Bring to the Workshop: Participants need to bring a rattle. Depending on the design of the talisman, they might also need to bring leaves, bark, or their drum.
Important Information - Participants are encouraged to reflect in advance on which spirit they wish to strengthen their connection with, and what form their talisman might take to support this. Journeying to that spirit can help explore and refine the design. Silver clay allows for a wide range of creative expression: participants can create imprints of leaves or bark, take impressions of textures from their drum or rattle, engrave patterns, or work with stamps of various animal tracks that will be available during the workshop. Each participant will receive approximately 3 - 5 grams of silver clay.
More about Jutta: She holds an Art Clay Diploma to teach and has taught workshops in the UK, Denmark, and Germany. She also offers one-to-one sessions for those wishing to create spiritually meaningful jewellery in a ritual setting. Her handmade jewellery was sold for many years at Treadwell’s in London under the label "Silabur".
